The refurbishment and extension to the Honey Club and the new Honey Bar on the Brighton seafront, west of the Palace Pier, presented an unusual and interesting local commission for LCE Architects.
The whole site consisted of two separate venues, a club/café bar and a bar operating separately but under the umbrella of single ownership. The site is located on the beach level promenade within the Kings Road Arches which sit directly under the pavement and highway of the Kings Road (A259).
LCE’s brief was to provide proposals and lead the design team for the alterations to both venues, in order to form one conjoined venue whilst still maintaining the ability to operate individually. The connection between the venues was created by two new complex openings through the arches. This gives the venue flexibility and creates interlinking rooms/ arches hosting different music and ambiances.
